Mozz talked me through how to sync the key to the ignition and then to the door however did not work kept loosing the little. Red light on the key fob . So to cut a long story short I built 1 good fob from the 2 I have and the light worked good . So he talked me through the set up again and hey presto all works fine . So I need to get a fob repair kit pronto . He also suggests like others have suggested to get an updated RF receiver from emmots, which I will do ASAP. Can't thank Mozz enough he spent about 30 mins or more on the phone helping me . Top bloke cheers again mate

:amen: no probs gazza , glad to help ,hope it stays ok any probs. you got my number, cheers kind regards MOZZ:D:D:D

p.s. dont forget to get the new rf reciever .

Hi all.
Just got my first Range Rover three days ago, a 97 2.5 DSE. Aways expect a few problems when you buy a car thats 15 years old. One fault it had was that the slightest bump would make the central locking lock and unlock the doors. Traced the fault to the drivers door. Took the card off and found a chaffed wire. While looking for the fault the doors were locking and unlocking like the clappers. Fixed the wire and locking is working fine, BUT now the car will not start. Turns over ok but isn't trying to start. Having read quite a few of the posts on this site it looks like I need to get the system reset. Have tryed the EKA and a few other thing till the battery started to struggle. Did get a message on the dash " Ignition tammper" . May be because I pressed the key fob while it was in the ignition :(. Is there anybody in the Spalding area that coud reset this or is it a main dealer job . I have tryed a local auto elec but no luck.

Many thanks
H

Well it ended up in the main stealers as no matter what we did we couldn't get it to start. Even had a guy a magic box look at it with no joy. They had it all weekend, rang me today to tell me they had got it running after re-sync BUT it will tick over fine but when reved in dies. They tell me the injector pump is up the duff but the car was driving fine before the sync problem. £1300 for a new pump plus fitting .I don't think so. Car will be back tomorrow. Have to find a pump without a mortgage. They'r not kidding when they say you need deep pockets to run a Range Rover

Fitted new RF Receiver tonight took 10 mins maximum fingers crossed this resolves the engin disabled and central locking via the remote issues. I can now lock and open it via the remote from about 15 yards instead of having to be right next to the car YIpeeeeee .THanks to all for the help especially Mozz :)

After main dealer got it ticking over, had a mate who is a deisel mechanic collect it. He found water in the fuel. Drained it and changed filter and we're going again.

Cheers
