Ever since I've owned my 2004 TD4 I have had to unlock the driver's door with the key as it has never worked from the remote control key fob despite all the other doors functioning perfectly.
So, I bought a replacement door latch and solenoid from ebay and set about replacing it, not an easy job as it's extremely fiddly. Having installed the new latch and correctly cabling it all up....guess what.....yep, still doesn't operate off he remote control fob. Exactly the same as before, HOWEVER I can hear the solenoid operating when I press the remote fob button but door does not unlock.
As well as this the driver's door does not lock or unlock using the switch inside the car.
So, have I been extremely unlucky and bought a latch with exactly the same problem as my old one or is there another problem causing this behaviour?
