Nothing to do with remotes, rf receivers or sync :)

Every now and again, but getting more frequent, the central locking operates as I drive. At first I thought someone was catching it with their elbow but then its done it with just me in.

When it happens, all locks lock *apart* from the drivers door which stays unlocked. Sometimes they all lock and unlock (again, apart from the drivers door that stays as it is), but usually they just all lock.

To unlock them, I lock and unlock the drivers door and they all operate and unlock.

Now if this was the RF receiver, they would ALL lock, including the drivers door. And the drivers door doesn't. There is nothing wrong with the drivers door as it operates fine from the remote.

So, am I correct in assuming it is internal to the drivers door. Like the linkages or something? Where should I look first?

Thank you!

As I've said before, opening and firmly closing the tailgate stops it on mine, also it has not done it since I fixed the corrosion on the tailgate button. That may just be coincidence as I can see no reason why corrosion on the button connector should make any difference. However, at the same time I fitted a stronger return spring on the button, cleaned all the linkages and checked the release motor.

Well I've recently been having problems with my tailgate (previous thread) AND the one time I got properly locked out, it was a faulty tailgate button.

I have had it out and cleaned it though - time to look at that spring and the other contacts in there....

tnx

Lower half of the tailgate wasn't latching at all on the right hand side. Adjusted it and it's now a much firmer close and latches properly. Not sure if there are microswitches in the locks, but if there are, I'm sure that will have sorted it. If not, I'll take another look at the button....

The only switch is on the mechanism in the centre lock.

Hi Guys, exactly the same problem in here:confused: Nick.
(I disconnect the aerial plug off the RF receiver... seems to solve it.... later no:mad:)

But when did this mod, I also adjust the tailgate locks... now they are loose again and the syndrome return.....

Thanks, now I know where to go.

Just so you know, central locking has been fine. So clearly the loose lower catch affects the microswitches in the central catch.
