Hi Folks

I wonder if anyone can help?
2007 Defender 110
Central locking only working now on front two doors, not the tailgate or two rear doors.
I assume they can't be on a separate fuse? any ideas why this is not happening would be gratefully recieved

Cheers

I'm guessing, but may be the motor/actuator gone on those locks. Try taking the door cards off and use a multitester to check the circuit is working. If it is I think you can consider the problem localised.

Thanks will have a look at that, but not sure, the locks seem to work intermitantly however it's more off then on at the moment

If intermittent I would suspect a loose connection somewhere, or an exposed wire earthing somewhere it shouldn't.

Solutions should start at the faulty locks and work forwards from there, trying to find loose connectors/bare wire. Electrics is my weak point though, but nobody else has replied, so I'm doing my best ;)

The tailgate CDL is powered via the roof harness & the rears via the toe-panel harness which is connected to the main harness under the drivers seat (white 3-wired connector mounted under the fusebox, the middle wire being purple & blue, methinks). The fact that front passenger CDL is working means that the module that controls the CDL is receiving feed from drivers door & opening the others( or at least trying to!). They are all powered by one fuse. Check that the white connector is OK under drivers seat. Failing that, maybe you'll need to remove door cards and try to free them manually.
