I wonder if anyone can help. I have a Freelander 2 SD4 Tech which is just 19 days out of warranty. The central locking is failing to open the doors and I have had to get in through the boot. I can then open the doors from the inside. My car has a full LR service history and was bought from a main dealer at 9 months old it was one of their loan cars. Any suggestions, is this is a common problem, any chance the dealer would fix it for free do you think? Help please

As it is so close to the end of the warranty and if it has full main dealer service history I’d expect goodwill from a Land Rover dealer for this repair

Only one way to find out!

How many key fobs do you have for the car, if two are they both not opening the car ? also why are you using the boot when you could use the manual key in the fob ? are the batteries ok in the fobs, as a fuse blown ? but as above take it to dealer I am sure they will help

Thanks both. Dealer said it was not their decision whether covered by warranty or not (so no good will there then ...) so I have raised with Land Rover Customer Relationship Centre. They are getting back to me.... to let me know whether they will cover.

As for the key in the key fob, yes I did know about this but wasn't exactly thinking straight stuck on the forecourt of my local garage with every man and his dog enjoying the show ..... ha ha.

Hopefully they will give you the help you need, does sound like a fuse though ?
