Central Locking Frozen !!

Hi all I have a 200tdi, the central locking and alarm work perfectly (amazingly) apart from this morning with a really cold morning

the central locking would not unlock (key fob) it would unlock and then immediately lock....assuming something is frozen somewhere....I managed to unlock the passenger door to get to work, by the time I got to work the central locking was working fine again.

does anyone know how common this is and if its preventable ? I assume something like one of the lock mechanisms has frozen solid ?

any help appreciated as its meant to be even colder tonight :doh:

Not a huge amount you can do I'm afraid - it's like the other day my drivers door was frozen shut - had to get in passenger side and push it open from the inside. Short of keeping it inside or undercover, it's one of those things.

could always give the mechanisms a good dose of WD40, take off the doorcards if you have can to get rid of any moisture in there
