Central Locking Failure on Front Door

I use the fob to lock the car, but only the back doors lock via this method.

I can lock the front drivers door manually with the key.

Would like some suggestions to narrow it down please

search for posts on site, basically you need to strip the door card off and refurb the mechanisms i reckon

It happened suddenly on both front doors - seems a bit of a co-incidence.

would it be something electrical that is linked to both doors ?

i would try syncing key and eka code then just to make sure the security system and key are singing from the same hym sheet!

I have seen there are conflicting ideas on how to do that

you will find that both the front doors and the tailgate are not being locked when using the fob. I had the same thing on mine and after reading the wire circuits and understanding the systems it turned out to be the drivers door lock/switch unit.

Other then the cost of the new part the hardest part was trying to get the 3 control arms clipped into the new lock unit. as there is sod all space in the door and all the pressings are as sharp as glass.

I can manually lock 4 doors, but how do you lock the tailgate from inside or out ?

locks with the drivers door or lock the drivers door from inside(if it will) and slam lock the passenger door! never come accross it before so its a bit of a guess!
