central locking and alarm

Is it possible to convert a 1993 TDI to remote central locking and install an alarm. Does anyone know of any decent kits for this (hopefully not too expensive)

Yes it is, take you pick with kits there are a few about but if u want an insurance approved alarm system then you will pay for that.

i have a disco 1 1993 200tdi and mine already has it factory fitted??? has urs been took off ? or u want to improve it ?

Just taken a closer look at the interior, i hadnt noticed that there are volume sensors above my head. There must be an alarm fitted but the key provided with the car did not have a button to set the alarm. I can only assume that when locking the car with the key i am just disabling the internal volum sensors (??). Is there anywhere that i would be able to get a replacement key fob and what info would i need to get from the car. only owned it like 2 weeks

Speak to these people and the will tell u what info they require for them to provide you with a single button fob, best to get two. There is also a few other companies that do the same service.

thanks mate. will have to do that on pay day. cant believe its so expensive compared to getting a kit. guess you get what you pay for tho
