Hello,

For a few years my alarm has been setting off sporadically now and then. Then lately my cl started to unlock itself randomly, until it would then unlock itself immediately when locking with fob. So i turned the alarm off and lock with key. I need to lock both sides separately with key, when locking from driver side, passanger does not react.

I have replaced both actuators, door sill switches and jumped the bonnet switch with a wire and the problem remains.

Any idea where to dig in next?

Its a hcpu pickup so only two doors.

Cheers,

I'm not saying this is definitely your problem, but I've had trouble like this as a result of the interior light wiring. There's some sort of intermittent short between the interior lights' wiring and the bodywork This leads the alarm unit to do odd things, because it thinks somebody's opening the door, presumably. I'd need to take the headlining and quite a bit of the trim out to fully check, so in the meantime I just leave the switches on both lights in the permanently off position and this leads to a much quieter and trouble free life.

Thanks, I think my issue is somewhat connected to the central locking as that seem to be the one playing games with me the most. I have had the light switched off too. But then again I have had the larm off also for some time, as it began shouting constantly as my locks was popping up frequently.

Well, it's got a lot of the same vulnerabilities as the wiring for the interior light - lengths of wire routed between body panels and trim panels, vulnerability to water ingress and so on. Plus that bit where the wires go through a bit of flexible conduit between the door pillar and the door and are getting flexed all the time. The copper bit in Land Rover wiring can break whilst the outer PVC sheath looks fine, as I've discovered on my wiring loom. So Old Foulbrown's Almanac predictions for 2023 indicate a lot of work ahead taking trim panels off and going round with a multimeter.
