center box

hi does anyone know if you can take the middle box off on a td4???:scratching_chin:

it might help if you explained what you mean by centre box.I think you mean a box between the 2 front seats.I dont have one nor ever seen one.

i was talking about the exhurst middle box:laugh:

Yup and Yup you can.
I think Paddock at matlock sell a straight through pipe for the TD4. Mines going to get one when the middle box finally falls to pieces. Makes it sound a bit tractorish but does release some back pressure off the turbo which can only help.

The exhaust is still the original one. Only the middle box is about to disintigrate, its covered in waxoyle and a couple of steel bands holding it together!
Been talking to my landrover mate about what to do and we think a straight through pipe would be best. I'm Sure its paddock who have the part, but most local exhaust places can have one knocked up out of mild or stainless steel for you.

paddock dont do it mate! just looked, would you leave your back box on? and just replace the middle part with a straight through pipe?

Definately leave the back box on and put a straight through pipe on the middle. taking the back box off would make it very loud and probably fail its test.
Sorry about paddock, could've sworn I saw one there. Pop down to a exhaust centre and if there any good they'll knock one up for you.
