cd/Radio Stereo Code

Ok, so just got done last week changing the clutch on my wifes '04 Freelander SE.
Stereo needed a code inputting so i dug around in the literature we got with it and found a small card with a 4 digit code for the stereo on it. Gave it the wife and sent her on her way.

Stereo is the stock single CD/AM/FM Tuner for the 04SE model.

So now she tells me she's inputted the code 10 times now and every time it had just said 'wait 30:00', and upon the tenth input it now says 'LOCKED'
She was inputting the code on the card by pressing the 1-4 numbers on the display to achieve the desired code and then hitting the > button to input.

Was this the correct way to input the code ? Why was it kicking out the correct code & what are my options now it says 'LOCKED' ??

Did she follow the procedure listed in the book?

Wait 30.00 is the response for wrong code entered and you have to wait 30mins before trying again.

Probably have to take it to a 'stealership' to be done now

It will cost you about £15 in the stealers to get the correct code & if that doesn't work they can "reprogram" it ( their words not mine ).
