CB radio advice

If your after a rig for mobile use just look for a small basic model,as long as its in working order and on the same frequency block as the others you plan to talk to the make/model won't really matter.How far away will the person your going to want to talk too be?

prob is most on e-bay seem to be old, wrong waveband, european or just plain crap.

Its fur laning - so - cupple of miles at most.

I used CB radio a lot as a kid, i see nothing much has changed, it's still "my rig's better than your rig", i used an amstrad 901 with a dv27 in the loft on a biscuit tin lid, with some wires attatched fo form a cross about 10 feet across, and it was fantastic, a friend of mine used to spend a fortune ( of his dads money ) on big antennas and burners and whatever else, but never got much better performance than my set up, before anyone says the amstrad was a crap rig, there were 2 versions one made in china and the jap version ( mine was the jap one ) the same inside as the rotel which was much sought after at the time, i also had "the new channels" fitted, iv'e still got it in a box in the spare room, been thinking of putting it in the disco for a while, but i didn't know if anyone still used them

I'd be VERY interested to see an Amstrad CB901 with a Rotel PTBM134A0X board in it.
The Amstrad service manual states that the CB900 and CB901 both utilise a PCMA002F cybernet chasis.

forgive me if i'm wrong, it was 22 years ago, when i was 14, that's just how i remember it

I know, i know. It's what happens when you repair stuff. You collect service manuals. Everything goes to hell in a hand basket thereafter

Just took delivery of my maxon EU handhelds from Ebay. Err I should have took your advice and been a little more careful. Turns out they are AM! Luckly i bought 2 of them so they work together and my superstar does AM. All be it a little bit illegal.
