i have a 110 and was wondering if anyone knows where the best place to fit a CB ariel is without damaging the body work but still getting a good signal??

If you don't want to drill it - try a gutter clamp. You'll have to leave a window open to get the cable though though.

Better bet is bite the buwwet and drill two holes - it's a landy ffs, it's not like it's water tight is it?

If it's a stubby aerial, you can attach it to your front A-bar (like the Slitties have at Langdale), or attach it to your roll cage if you have one.

best place is in the middle of the roof, even ground plane, better SWR, better transmit signal. Ally roof so mag mount out of the question, if it was me, I'd drill the roof.

Gutter mount will be ok, if the ground plane is crap then the SWR will be high,
Be sure to check and adjust after fitting the aerial, if not, you'll blow the rig.

thanks for your help, i have fitted the ariel on a bracket bolted to the back door. i made sure there was a good earth to the roof and to the chassis by adding eathing links, works perfectly now! cheers

mag mount on roof...could you not have a steel plate on the under side of the roof with some form of thin rubber sheet isolating it from the roof?
