Catalytic Rattlle !

Hi, This is my first post on any web thingy. So I am probably getting it wrong.

I have got a rattle coming from my right hand cat, and it is driving me Nucking Futs!

I have bought two replacements so far, and returned them as neither fitted,

Does anyone know where i can get an aftermarket cat that will fit, please help if you can, regards Marc

Good afternoon G-Man, I got one from buypartsby, and the other from eurocarparts, but they were both lacking a single pipe bit on the back, I have looked at the web and believe the rear bit where the two pipes come together is different on the manual to the auto, they said there is only one part listed though?
I could have got it welded, but it would have killed off the two year warranty.

But I need to send a picture of the one I need, there are people selling them on ebay for under £200- but they all show the auto one, ESR3059 or 90110 etc,,,,, but I need ESR 3063 I have a picture both on and off the car so hopefully they can compare it bfore I buy another one that doesnt fit! I must admit it is getting on my nerves a bit, and I am considering buying a mig welder and replacing the cat with a bit of pipe!

they will have the cats book there so they can match it to the one you want its likely they will get one from euro-cats if you get there early they should be able to get it the same day (open at 8:30 on monday)

try get one straight downpipe no cat get more power if u running on vegoil no emissions anyway!! winter 20-30 to 80-70 mix vegge??

The worrying part is, they all seem to have Cat books, computer listings and stuff, and so far no one has shown me the correct part, I have photos but dont know if you can put them on here? The only place i have found to have shown me the correct part are land rover stealers, who wanted £1040+vat !

Hi Taffy, I dont think you can adapt a V8 petrol engine to run on Chip Fat? But I may be wrong.

yes rip off merchant! buypartbrit is quite good your bet option is get a straight throu pipe and and get a pipe section which u can clamp two pipes together and bolt with ring bolt etc mine is from manifold starigh to backbox

Hi Taffy, thank you sir, any help would be most appreciated, I have found that most people think the Auto one will fit, but it doesnt. There are apparently Three types for the 1993/4 V8 3.9 EFI discovery. One for Manual, One for Auto and one for the long wheel base version. I have a picture of the one I need both on and off the car, but I dont know if you can, or how to put a picture on here. But thanks again for your help, Regards Marc

I have managed to aquire the damn thing for £228- from Car Parts, Exhaust Systems, Car Exhausts, Catalytic Converters, Alloys after talking to the manufacturers tecnical department, Land rover list the correct one for my car for a 4.2 rangerover ?
