catalyic converter

Help! I think I may have started a job I wish I hadn't!

To day replaced the catalytic converter on my '95 p38.

Once on I started the car, the car still seemed to turn over sounding rather lumpy and I noticed that the catalytic converts were glowing red hot, I never noticed this old the old ones. IS THIS NORMAL?

also has anyone got a link to RAVE as my copy got lost when my old pc crashed!

Mine are the same.... checked the coil packs and theres a bit of melting on em and misfiring on 2 pots so im changing the coils and assuming it runs well i'll change the cats.... the cats also glow red hot... theym s'posed to get hot but mine look like they aint far off melting

Ordered mine from a local indy £155 and they give ya £15 for yer old ones

I was looking at getting a set of these. Do we think they're just a rubbish design, or is there something wrong with them?

Nathan, which indy did you go to get yours from? Are these the ones that glow red, or the replacements? Was that a fitted price?

I'm so fed up with the noise from mine!
