Hi all

still rebuilding my 90 but need advice its coming time when i need to fit me lights which should if fit original or NAS.

do carling switches exchange directly or do you need to buy extra bits

and whats the best sound proofing

thinking about recovering my seats with outlast fabric any views

sorry for all the questions
cheers

Carling switches can replace your Rear Wash/Wipe switch but you need to modify the wiring to fit on the back of the other switches. Fitted Carling Switches to a Raptor console no problem.
I've tried some sound proofing and all it was was felt like rough trimmed material which seemed to work but soaked up any water!! Have now bought a 1 piece sheet from 'Wrightoffroad.com' as featured in Landrover Monthly magazine (March 2012) which looks fine and will not absorb and hold water.

I have a raptor dash with carling switches for all my extras like spotlights and such and they work fine. As far as soundproofing goes it really depends on what you want to spend. I went for the exmoor trim moulded matting which is around £400 but it does not soak up water which you will get in a defender.

I also bought Modular seats but they werent cheap either so it all depends on what you want to spend?

I like that mud dash does the gear lever hit the dash when you go into reverse?

Does part of the dash have to be cut away when fitting either the Mud or Raptor console? I wont be fitting a stereo into it, just switches for heated screen, heated seats, 12v etc?
