...but due to busyness/laziness/mild retardness, has not been able to get it sorted. He's tried all the pills, pumps, etc...but that's a different story.

What he REALLY wants is an extra inch of suspension height for his Disco 1 V8. Looking to change the shocks and springs as both are pretty knackered on his and the car is riding on 235/85/16 tyres so the extra inch should clear these nicely without comprimising on-road handling too much.

The question is, what's the best option to go for? Cost is a major factor here, so no heavy duty rally-raid stuff required, just basic but good quality kit. There's several options available with standard or longer dampers, stiffer or standard rate springs, etc. So, for example is it best to go for...

- standard length dampers with +1 inch standard-rate springs?
- standard length dampers with standard length HD springs (which will make an unloaded car sit higher F+R, I assume)?
- +1 inch dampers and +1 inch standard-rate springs?
- +1 inch dampers and standard length HD springs?

Any advice and experience welcome - or better still, just a complete +1" damper + spring kit recommendation from someone?
