Hi,

Be gentle with me as this is my first post!
I have read through other members issues with this problem but as always each one is slightly different.

Trying to keep it short....

Disco 2 td5 2003

Auto locking is in use
All doors lock using key fob
All doors unlock with key fob except cargo door, the unlock/lock button on the dash does not solve the problem, I have to lean over to open the door from inside
The cargo door opens and closes OK until I lock the car, either with key fob of auto lock function then I have the same problem with climbing into the back to open the door
Tried unlocking with just the key in the door and this does not work the cargo door

I have just spent a fortune on two front hubs and discs and am looking to try and sort this myself

I welcome any ideas and thank you in advance if you are reading this!

Hi, u have to make certain it's not the motor gone so..... unplug C0831 and check feed with a control lamp between pins 7-4 / 7-8 whilst u use the fob or the CDL switch. If u have feed it means that something is wrong with the motor assy........if not then it might be a wiring issue.....cheaper but could be complicated to find it.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately the suggestion is probably beyond a layman like me.
I was hoping to try a couple of things before the rear door panel had to be removed, as I don't feel brave enough to take my wifes car apart and be left with it in pieces.
Is there any other test I can try?

It's not a big job at all and I dunno any easyer way to check it......but u know your skills.....instead put your ear on the tailgate near the actuator and try to figure out that is there at least a click/buzz/anything whilst trying to open

anyway if the actuator is gone u must get in there somehow

You need a new door lock, simple as that and about 30 mins to replace it.............although it "may" just need lubricating.......

You can "pop" out the land rover badge on the outer handle and give it a dam good soaking in wd40 or similar, but ultimately it may be past that.
