Carb Oil Floats??

So getting to know the landy a bit more, spent some today on basic maintenance, had a look in what i think are the carb oil floats?? See pic below, should they have oil in them? or am i looking at the wrong thing

They're called dash pots and yes they should have oil in them, and engine oil is fine, fill to about half full.

ok will top up, what what cause them not to have oil, and what would the effect be??

They lose the oil over a period of time so top up often. No oil in there cause surging and flat spots in acceleration and sometimes lumpy running when cruising.

:scratching_chin: lets see there will be a 3in1 oil recommendation coming foward and different weight oils? This will be interesting to watch..:lol:

I'd recommend using rapeseed oil......

for cooking my chips in.

10w40 is easy to get hold of an fine for these
