Hi there, I'm looking for some help to identify a fault. We have a 52 plate freelander. We have had problems starting it but it has been intermittent. It always starts first thing in the morning and will start fine for days. Then it won't start and takes several attempts, this only happens when the car has been running ie if we stop for petrol or at a shop. Anyway when my husband got in it this even g it was completely dead, absolutely nothing when u turn rhe ignition, it's like the immobiliser has stuck on. Not sure if it's related to the first problem or if it's 2 separate issues. Anyone got a clue ?

Thank you for replying I read the link and that def sounds like my fault. Do u think the fact that the car is complete dead is the same fault or a different one. We have spent over 2 grand on this car this year, just seems to be one thing after the other. I'm so sick of it. Anne

When you say completly dead - do you mean no lights on dash, no life anywhere - interior lights not working etc etc....??

If so could be a dodgy battery lead....

It's a TD4. It's not the battery , the breakdown guy checked all that. It opens fine with the remote and beeps when you get in. The lights on the dash come on but when you turn the key it doesn't make a sound.
