My 1999 autobiography, had develpoed a wierd problem. I got in the car while my family were inside. When I returned (car unlocked), I jumped in and tried to start the car. I heard about 3 or 4 beeps, and then I retried starting the car and it started. AS I drove off I heard the beeps again and my door swung open. It looks like it hadn't shut at all - hence the first lot of beeps.
As I tried to shut the door the actual lock had jammed and the door just bounced in the door aperture. I tried it a couple of times and it still would not shut. I think I then pressed the buttons on the remote a coule of times to try and get the lock to open and it worked. BUT - the locks began to lock by themselves and the keyfob was unlocking the doors but they immediately lock themselves instantly - -bizzare......

can you help?

could be a wiring fault,i had a similar thing happen where i would shut the drivers door and it would lock all the doors, turned out to be a broken wire in the drivers door.

Faulty door lock mechanism or as can happen, the button sticking against the door trim hole i.e. not popping right up when unlocked. Best to try it with the door card/trim off before venturing further. Once inside the door, though, check the rods and levers. If all that's ok then wiring either at the lock or where it goes through the pillar (although less likely).
