Disco 2 Car cover - lift and roof rack

Hello,

Anyone bought a car cover that will fit a discovery 2 with a 2inch lift and roof rack?

Vehicle is 5m long and 2.6m high. I was looking at. 8m x 12m tarpaulin.

Can't find one and have found some tarpaulin but wondered if anyone had found any large actual car covers

Problem with car covers outside is the weather causes them to move slightly anf it rubs the paint away especially on corners of wings.
I parked my Dolly Sprint up for a while with a good fitting outdoor cover when we moved and sorted out putting up a bigger garage. The cover was well secured all over the car with extra straps but the wind still got underneath and all the edges and corners on the car were worn, some down to primer.

Good point, I really need a garage but one that fits my vehicle is few and far between

All good car covers now have 3 or 4 layers, one of then could be fleecy lined so won't scratch and 100% waterproof and breathable. I've just bought one, but you will get what u pay for.
You could also look a the pull over pram hood style of portable cover.
Covers come in all sizes, loads of suppliers on the www.

I have one on mine and I am very pleased with it, although it has faded in colour over the few years I've been using it.
It is a very soft fabric and has not scratched my paintwork.
It is marketed as 'Water resistant' although I have found it excellent at not letting any rain through.
Mine is a D2 WITHOUT a lift or roof rack and it comes down the wheels more than half way
It does depend on what you are prepared to pay as mine was not cheap compared to many advertised online.

What's your reason for wanting to cover it? If its to stop water getting in through leaks, why not spend the time and effort fixing the leaks instead?

If its because you're going to be working on it - maybe buy a cheap party tent (search "party tent" or "gala tent") and use that as a makeshift "garage" for your car.

A cheap cover is not worth looking at... it will trap moisture and condensation against the car.

Carport?

Mine fits very nicely into a 20' shipping container.
Many self store sites use them.
You have to fold in the passenger door mirror and have someone guide you in, get as close to the pass side as possible.
You can then quite easily get out of the drivers door.

i bought a few covers off ebay , used it over my lean to i started to build , just put one on for the winter till i get the roof panels on , has remained nice and dry

they do them in different sizes

I live in London and have just bought a car for work so my overlander has to go back up north to my mums. I want to keep it out the rain and snow so wanted something to fit over it to keep it nice and warm and safe but without looking like a builders site as it will be at the front of her house.

what about the car cover frames , trying to remember what there called, has like a U shaped frame that opens and closes with a waterproof cover fixed to the frame
