I've decided that it's time to replace my battery in the landy - its struggled to start again this morning, which its done for a few weeks off and on, now more on than off!

I've searched on here and on google and seems that the Bosch HSB019 could be a good one to go for. I've got access to a halfords trade card and also can get another 10% off with some gift vouchers (buy the vouchers for 10% less than advertised price :) ) so I will probably go with halfords - eurocarparts are same price and can't get discount there.

Question is - is this one that people would recommend or is there a beefier/cheaper one I should look at?

Cheers guys....

Cheaper at euro car parts, I got my Bosch one delivered for less than £50

Really? Which one did you go for? I've found the site not hugely easy to navigate, entering my reg number or giving my model tells me no batteries are suitable. I looked for the same model as at halfords and that came up at around £130 too

After some umming and arring and finding out how much the bosch one was on trade, i went for a Numax CXV-X 1000 Amp which seems to get good reviews. I needed get it ordered asap as struggled again this morning to start. Hopefully once it arrives should be all better again :)

I can see you have ordered one now

Sorry for coming back late, they don't seem to list it on euro anymore but I did see it on amazon

Have you tested the starter motor? how much power does it draw on starting.
I recently thought I had battery problems, on checking further I found the starter was on its way out. I have forgotten the exact figures , I think a normal starter motor should draw something like 175 amps. Mine was drawing 380 amps which was killing the battery. I ended up changing both the starter and the battery. Worth checking.

Hmm interesting.

How did you check it? My 10 amp multimeter won't be suitable.

Also if you only have the original earth straps on it then buy a few extra, makes a huge difference. 1 from batt to chassis and them chassis to gearbox
