Hiya went to use our 14 plate freelander 2 dynamic today . You can hear the locks working and the mirror come open but the doors won't actually open so we can't get in the car even when trying to use the key in the passenger door . Has anyone had this problem . Tried both keys and nothing. Thanks

this is one problem I have not had.but do not lose faith somebody on here will know what the problem is
you can be certain of that.

Try pulling the handle first before trying to unlock the car, when you do try to unlock press the fob twice, if this still fails press the fob unlock 5 times very quick, report back if you are still in the same position

What’s the weather been like where you are? Have the doors frozen stuck to the body at all?

Sounds as if remotes are working and the unlock request is received by the car as the mirrors are moving and you can hear the locks working so suspect it’s not the latches but could be wrong - hard to tell without being there.

Can you unlock the boot? Yer only operating one lock instead of all of them. Pull the boot door open when unlocking it on it's own from the fob.

How long has it been since it were last started?

Hiya thanks everyone. We managed to get in to the car through the boot and open the door from the inside. It was okay yesterday but today the drivers door wouldn't lock with the rest so locked the drivers door internally then locked the rest of the car on the remote once came back to it and it wouldn't order although same as before the mirrors opened and u could hear the locks activating had to climb in through the boot again.

You do know there's a physical key inside the fob don't you?
Hard to describe, but there's a bit you have to depress and you can pull the fob apart to reveal a key. You then need to pop a plastic cover off either the driver's or passenger door handle to reveal the lock. Then you can insert the key and unlock the vehicle. Doesn't solve the problem, but it does mean you don't have to clamber over all the seats to get to the front ones.

Is there enough power in the battery to start the engine after the doors have failed to electrically unlock?

Yeah for some reason it won't unlock manually either. The engine starts fine think we have narrowed it down a bit we had the central locking to open the drivers door only on the first press off the remote then all on the second. We took it off and set it to open all on the first seems the fault may lay with the drivers door as now it seems to lock and unlock just not that door so at least we can open it from the passenger side rather then the boot fingers crossed. We spoke to land rover they said the door Actuators can fail even on newer cars it's very common and often they all fail so not great .

I have never heard of all the Actuators fail in one go, or do they mean they can all fail now at sometime, this happens to a lot of cars, always best to purchase a new one, because a second hand one you do not know how long it will last.

It sounds like the failed driver door thing is pulling down the volts which stops the other doors unlocking at the same time.

Was there an outcome to this? Im having the exact same issue. Started with the F/N/S door not opening. Then it was both front doors. Now its all and im having to climb through the boot. It's intermittent too not every time and for some odd reason i dont have a key fob inside either of my keys.

Sounds like the lock actuator assembly in the doors.
They do fail intermittently first, then the stop working altogether and the door can't be opened from inside or out.
It's best to fix it while the door still open, as once the doors don't unlock from the inside, there's no non destructive way to open the effected doors.

How old is your car battery, give it a charge while it's on the car, once you have climbed in and opened the doors, also try hold the fob close to the middle of the windscreen where the interior rear view mirror is, that's where the central Locking to the antenna is.
