Was going to drive the Disco 2 into the driveway today to prepare to start working on changing the head gasket tomorrow. Battery is flat - both key fobs wouldn't open the vehicle. No problem - just use key to open the driver's door. Next problem - how to open the bonnet and get the battery out for charging??? I can't climb across to the passenger's side to pull the bonnet release lever - too big and not a contortionist! Any suggestions?

It's a bit of a wriggle, but you can connect the battery charger "+" to the starter motor battery cable and the battery charger "-" to any convenient earth point on the chassis.

Or perhaps, fashion some sort of wire hook to pull the passenger door handle....

Good luck.

1/ find a slimmer person!
2/ open the passenger door from the drivers seat, use a stick with a hook on the end,

Or do as in the last post!
