cant get rear seats to open up after folding them down

folded my rear seats down yesterday ,tried to put back up today small seat ok large seat back rest wont go up ? anyone had this happen ,undone seat belt thinking it was that but no joy ,:eek:

Check that there's nothing obstructing the seat locking mechanism that catches onto the loops in the floor, the seat back won't unfold until the base is locked to the floor properly:)

Mine does it every now and again. As mentioned earlier check the bottom where the seats click into, I have a magic bit of cardboard that keeps finding its way under there, no matter how many times I think I have thrown it away, stopping it from locking and so the seats will only come up 1/3rd way
Also my seatbelt used to get tight like it does when you pull it too hard stopping the seat from comming up, might be worth checking tht

I have a non-standard rubber mat in the back that goes full length when the seats are up - so the seat sits on top of it when its down. I had to cut a couple of slots where the brackets (that the seat bases latch to) are. Its enough to make those latches not click in properly, so I have to lower the seat bases "rather rapidly" to squash everything up and let the latches click in - so that the backs will go up.
