Yep thanks just need some one local with nanocom to reprogramme if I get used will ask the local stealer tomorrow for current new key price I had good service from them when I got new keys for the p38

I hope that you're using "good quality" batteries, not a pack of a dozen from the local pound shop.

I expect you know this, but just on case. Even a new one will require the car to be programmed to accept it. But with a new one then a Hawkeye can program the car.
Let us know what a Dealer charges for "supplying and programming" for a new key.

You can send your fob away for refurbishment, I can't remember where but @neilly will probably know.
Intermittent operation such as you've indicated is a classic symptom of failing or faulty micro-switches.

I've fixed it and it wasn't the micro switches as I swopped them out with the ones in the refurbishment kit and it did the same thing. Not wanting to be beaten and with a back ground in electronics I've applied some heat to most of the solder joints on the pcb and normal function has returned.

I then focused my attention to the new housing because when assembled it was pressing on one of the micro switches constantly you can see in the picture where I've applied heat to resolve the poor fitting casing .
