My Disco 2 battery failed and ran completely flat, has been standing for about 6 weeks. On fitting new fully charged battery I wasn't surprised that my fobs don't work, so I alarm and am immobilised.

I have the EKA code, (at least I presume it's correct and has original BCU etc.) that I got from a main dealer a few years back.

I just can't get it to enter the EKA mode. I put the key in turn to Unlock for (at least) 5 seconds and It doesn't beep / indicate on LED on dash etc. Occasionally when I lock I get the short beep that you get if you try to lock with a door not shut so thinking it may be one of these. If I plug my Nanocom it won't talk to BCU but I take it this is because its immobilised, so I can't check doors shut etc. from that.

I've searched and can't find a thread on this (plenty on how to enter :)) but if there is please point me in the right direction so I can be accused of Man Looking :)

Hi, first of all the fact that the battery went flat should not stop the fobs to work once a new battery was fitted, you might have a problem with the RF receiver for that and the microswitch in the door latch can make tricks so the BCU doesnt recognise the unlock command, did you try the fobs after you locked once with key? is the central locking reacting to the unlock command?

anyway try your luck and replace the RF receiver maybe you can unlock with fob then investigate further

I disconnected the horns so I could play around without annoying the world every 2 minutes and started to look around. Had a tea break and while walking back out by chance I activated with the remote, I think I'm looking at damp RF unit. Took no chances and started it up before it had a chance to think of locking up again.

On inspection with the Nanocom, the problem with the EKA was down to it being turned off, so lucky escape for me. Switched it on and also turned off the passive immobiliser and alarm until I track down the fault.
