Hi all
I’m new to this forum, but am looking at buying a series Land Rover. I love the look of the series 2, but concerned about not schromesh gears. I’m looking to find out therefore can I put series 2 wings onto a series 3, and could I put a series 2 bulk head into a series 3, that way I could have the series 2 dash. many thanks for your help on this.

Pretty sure you can makes them all fit with little to no tweaking.
I think you will need s3 clutch (as cover is different) and of course the s3 box, plus clutch slave is the other side so needs longer clutch pipe.
To be honest, got to be easier to buy a series 2 and just fit a full synchro s3 gearbox?

Oh yeh welcome to LZ, have a look see in the series section

Thank you Brian and Lynall.
The reason behind getting a series three, was thinking it would be cheaper, to buy but after what you have said, I think getting a gearbox change makes more sense. Thank you for the welcome and help
from both. Il check out the series section to see if i can buy one from this forum.

The sereis2forum is also a great place for advice, though they are a bit more regimental than the LZ lot, always worth keeping an eye out on their for sale bit of the forum.

I think s3 are fine cars, but the plastic dash is going to be a long term issue, unlike the s2 where there is no plastic.
