I would really appreciate if someone with a facelift td4, not Sport, could measure their ride height and travel please to help me put to bed whether or not the sport has shorter struts (dampers) than the standard.

Some dealers have told me its just the springs that are shorter and others that both the springs and dampers are shorter, I know the dampening characteristics are different but I wish to know if I can put standard springs on my sport struts.

I have measured from the center of the hub to the underside of the black trim on the outside of the wheel arch, front and rear measurements are the same on mine.

My 04 TD4 Sport measures 17 1/4 inches normal ride and 20 1/4 inches jacked up under the chassis with the suspension fully extended and wheel off the floor. This gives me 3 inches travel so I reckon if I put standard springs on my struts then I would only have about 1 1/2 inches travel which to me seems very short.

Many Thanks

PS You can check your viscous coupling while you have it up vicar :D

If yours is 17 1/4 with all 4 wheels on the ground, then 20 1/4 inches jacked up, it doesn't mean you have 3 inches of travel. You need to measure from fully compressed to fully extended, which I would guess is about 6 inches. As for not having smaller struts, I don't know mate.
