the discovery 2 i have just purchased for a bit of off road fun!!, has no working head lights they never told me but ,ha, ho, is this a comon fault,or is it the good old garage,dont no if it makes any difference but the air has been removed and gas with spring back in place year 2001:doh:

Sounds like the previous owner was happy to get rid, did you buy it privately or from a garage, if a garage take it back to them to fix.

If not welcome and roll your sleeves up
 
all checked, when i put tester on head light fuses,nothing,put tester on all other fuses bulb light up as norm,seems no power to fuses evenon head lights pluss 1 side light, i have the 2 lights in the indicators working and 1 side light, put tester on light plugs nothing,no power

Need to check if there is anything cumin out of the switch then, normal route would be switch, fuse, relay, light.

get yourself a power probe and connect it to the positive and negative terminals on the battery. Then use it to check your fuses. It should show as the fuses being either live or earth. It will help check both the fuses and continuity in one hit. It sounds to me like the switch or relay is at fault.
