sounds like it is injection pump timing, when was the cambelt last changed?

once it started i have drove it from oldham to lincoln and back with no lost of water or oil temp was ok

sounds like a goosed injector, fire it up and crack the injector pipes open one at a time and you should find one that doesn't make it run worse. if you find it most diesel garages can refurb injectors for a damn sight les than new...

have put new set injector i going to change the heater plugs this weekend to see if that helps

would'nt make any difference m8, sounds like an injector fault throwing diesel down one pot and outa the exhaust,
once your engines warm the glow plugs don't do anything so try testing the plugs before you swap em.

Definatly sounds like pump timimg, happened to mine. Comes from people not setting pump up after timing belt change.

So what was it and what cured it?

My guess is that you had some dud glow plugs.

us and the 2 wooruf keys us
