Will my disco run well on cooking oil and if so what make of oil would i use im told maize cooking oil is good but i dont know. Also would i need to mix the oil with diesel would i need vegetable oil or sunflower oil or will they run on any old ****e.

use veg oil cant remember why or how but sunflower oil is deferent. their.s loads of places to read up on it if you do a search , i run a 70/30 mix,,,, and in the warm weather 50/50 mix . but saying that ive run my old RRC on just about every oil you can think of ...

i have ran my td5 on about 5 different fuels over the years-never had an issue the last MOT couldnt believe how low the emissions were either??

i converted my 300tdi to run on 95% cooking oil. The kit costs about 500 quid from a company called diesel veg.com. I do 90 miles a day. it paid for it self in about 20 weeks. I get my veg oil from costco 20ltr containers at about 88 pence a litre.

nice 1, was the kit easy to install?

The instructions are easy to follow, allow your self about 4 hours + 3 cups of tea.

Odie, so all you gotta do is make up your 75% 25% oil/diesel and away you go??? Is that really it??? Veg oil yeah????? I'm well into this, anything to save money!!!!

I have been running on veg oil for a few months now, was using 60% veg oil but have cut it down to 50% now its getting colder. On a cold morning the engine needs to turn quite a few times before firing up, it gets a little smokey when its been idling for 10 mins or more, I fitted a new fuel filter after I had used a couple of tank fulls, and you can smell the fresh cooking oil.....but the engine runs much quieter and the oil costs £17.75 for 20 litres

where you getting your oil from kellymike and does it contain anti foaming agent had some from tescos works out at 97p a litre but got anti foaming agent in it

I know i'm sounding like a soft **** here but all you gotta do is just mix? Aint gotta add nothing??? I know what your thinking but dont wanna shag it up. So if i'm doubtful could I start off with a lesser ratio??

yes mate just shove it inive run an audi passat and mondeo on veggie oil from tescos and asda finnest engine runs quieter seems to be more power too

Cheers Tre90, I'm gonna give it a go tomorrow. Mate you work um?? dogs that is, HA. Me oldest one's trained to the gun but the others will retrieve but not up to scratch really, not enough bloody time with this war goin on!!! Missus works for springer welfare so got a soft spot for um.
