earlier discos came with 7 seats and coil springs, cant see it making a difference. doubt they would even know that it was meant to have air bags if you had an accident.

why would you want to change to coils?
replacing a suspension compressor costs 200 quid and is easy to do in about 1/2 hr with a single spanner.
Changing to coils cost £100 for the kit then an hour's time at the dealer on testbook to remove the air option on the ecu. then the extra insurance premium for all the time you own the motor.

I've got rear air suspension on my Disco, once the air springs were replaced it has been fine and I love it. A friend at work has an identical vehicle but when the compressor failed he fitted a coil conversion. His car rides a little more harshly than mine now it didn't cost much and he didn't need to get the BCM reprogrammed as the car sits at the correct ride height.

My opinion....
I wouldn't replace the air suspension if I were you.
