Can I modify a Disco chassis to fit 90

Hi everyone,don't know if any kind soul can help me?I've recently bought a '85 defender 90,complete with the obligatory rotten chassis.Ideally wanted a new 90 chassis,but after looking everywhere,realised they're not too cheap.However,I have a disco chassis thats in reasonable condition.Is it possible to chop it to fit the 90?Have any of you done this?Not sure where to start.Any help much appreciated,

tis common on hybrids to use a coil chassis and cut and modify to suit.
cut everyrhing off it, shorten it and fit a 90 xmember and all the outriggers and you'll be fine.
Technically if you replace a chassis you should q plate it but this rarely happens and who's gonna tell!

why the hell would you want all that hassle,just get a defender one,shell out the dosh and get a gavanised one if your gonna keep the landy long term

well each to there own, some people may want to do that. i bought a cheap one and welded it up properly when i built mine. couldnt afford a new 90 chassis so did it this way. I am an experienced welder and had it all done in a couple of days costing me about £100

I would also not underestimate the task of shortening a chassis and getting it right. I know LRs are not exactly built to F1 tolerances but just 10mm out either side will affect the handling.
