sorry to point out fitting a larger bore will make it harder to press not lighter simple case of less mechanical advantage

i am sorry but you are wrong, the way it works is this, imagine a simple car jack of the hydraulic type it has a small piston to fill the large ram that lifts the car, if you have say a pump piston size that takes 20 strokes to make the jack move one inch, you then increase the size of the pump piston to only take half as many strokes to move the same ram the same distance, you will require twice the effort, therfore larger bore pushes the same amount of fluid for a smaller distance travelled so more effort is required.
