Can I hot wire the wiper motor in a 90 to get me through to Monday?

OK.

I am 200 miles from home, it is Saturday night and my windscreen wipers have stopped working.

I am just south of Birmingham at the moment.

Was driving along in rain and the wipers were OK, then suddenly stopped half way across the wind screen.

Do not really want to drive with non - OP wipers in this "summer".

Would you beleive, I think it is the park switch that is fooked. I do have 12v to the terminals at the motor (whatever colour the wires are).

Question: What do the red, yellow and blue wires into the wiper motor actually do. can I hot wire them in to get me a working wiper blade set?

Or where is a spare parts place open near Solihull o a Sunday?

mine did the same recently and ity was the reverse light switch blowing the fuse every time i turned the wipers on, disconnected reverse light and all good.

Remove the park switch with it still plugged in and I'm Shure the wipers will run ... But it will be constant .... But I thought they always failed in a way where the wipers would not park but I'm not Shure ..... Hope this helps

All fuses buzz out OK, was first thing checked. will have a second look though, thanks

:(

I rekon it is the wiper motor. It is drawing just over 12 amps when trying for wiper speed one.

But no movement is seen at all.

Hmm, the first full day of the holiday too - more :(

It is not the motor.

Removed it and released the drive cable.
The motor behaved as expected with the stalk instructions.

Single speed and double speed = all well.

It is a physical stoppage of the cable due too:

It was the drive cable and the wheel boxes that were causing the problem.

Passenger side wheel box spindle like a bananna & the drivers side end of the drive cable fooked.

Photos may follow if I can find the card reader.

So I need 2 no wheel boxes, two new arms, perhaps blades and a drive cable.

Hope the rainstays off 'till I get them sourced.

Oh yes, the passenger side wheel box spindle is a buggerrrr, the allan key is all rusted up and I cannot shift the thing. I have no hacksaw with me so it looks like drilling it out when I get a new wheel box.
