I am looking on eBay for a second key for the Discovery 2, I looked at John Craddocks and Rimmer Bros etc, but these places want between £150 to £230 for a key, I spotted a few on eBay for around £30 to £60 which even use the same photos that they have on the main sites, does anyone know if these are alright? Or can someone recommend a cheap supplier of keys for the Discovery 2

I didnt use them myself but a friend did and he was pleased... a main dealer should give you the key code based on ownership evidence

Have you used these guys yourself or did you just search for them?
Any idea how to get a key code so they can cut the key remotely? They mention a vehicles security card but is there another way to find the key code?
When you purchase a new vehicle, u receive a small card with various security codes on it, its something that a Main Dealer would access on LR s vehicle build data base.
But u don’t need the code to cut a replacement key, your local shoe repair/ key cutting shop should have a correct blade enabling them to cut a facsimile of you keys profile with their little machine, but if not blank blades can be purchased on eBay for u to take along with your original key. Yes, I was aware that the local shop can cut keys but I’m also wary of cutting a new key from a very worn (and bent) original.
Surely better if one could be cut from the original code.
I’ll give the MD a look for that code, thanks.

True, if u have an iffy key to start with, I’ve had small issues in the past with similar key cutting, but managed to readjust the profile of the key with my mini file...
Still worth contacting you MD and get the other security codes that your disco has at the same time, if u need them that is. :)

Definitely go to Paul at discovery2parts.
Completely new key, just to be cut and programmed for £40.
Need a nanocom to programme the key and any good key cutter will fix the metal part, provided you have a template.
