Could anyone advise if I will need to camel cut the rear arches on the new 300tdi when I fit 245/75/16 tyres? It is standard height on the suspension.

I know for 265/75/16's you have to, even with a 2" lift but am hoping these won't need it.

I would say no,only with anything 7.50 or 85 height. To be fair have a go and see,you can camel cut anytime if needed in 10mins.

Thanks for that, guess it also depends on the wheel offset. Using standard alloys which are quite low offset so hopefully won't need to do it. I know it's a 10 minute job with a dremel or grinder with cutting disc but if I do it i want do make a proper job of it by warming and folding the panel so as not to leave a sharp edge. Not done that successfully before!

Just take a file to it. I did and haven't had any problems. You'd have to be a good panel beater to get a good fold.

You wouldn't get a tidy edge doing it that way the ally would be that thin on the edge that you run the risk of snapping/cracking it and in the end you would have to cut it. You could put chequer plate over the bottom of the panel flush with the cut but you wouldn't get a return edge on either of them

I did the 200's wheel arches with a pair of mole grips and a sert of lead beaters/dressing tools. Folded the edge right back on itself. Did a lovely neat job of it and the folded edge was way stronger than what was there before.
