Hello,
I have just purchased a Freelander 2 2014 SD4 HSE with 79,000 miles on the clock.
I am not sure whether or not the cambelt has been replaced - and am difficulty finding a garage that can book me in asap.
Two questions:
When should the cambelt have been replaced on this car?
If the cambelt should already have been replaced - what are the chances of it breaking imminently?
(i.e - do I have a "window" of time? Or am I well over the date it should have been replaced?)
I'm a little concerned about driving it.
Many thanks.

From memory on a 2014 model it's due at about 110k or 7 years, whichever comes first.
I'd not be overly concerned, as the same belt is used on the earlier engines too, and those were 150k or 10 years.
I don't believe there were many timing belt failures, so I don't know for sure why they reduced the change intervals.

Thanks for this.
