cambelt kit 300tdi disco

on saturday i rang hartwell landrover for a cambelt kit for my 1996 300tdi auto disco .to be told i needed an option 1 ,kit ?? wot ever that is ? ,and that main dealers no longer do this kit ,,,, are after market kits as good ? or any one no a place that may still sell a proper landrover kit ? many thanks for your help

foundry 4X4 do a kit for the 300tdi for 35 quid. It'll be a britpart item, they are as good as the genuine items in my opinion.

i had this problem a while back with a land rover main dealer. i was told i could only buy the parts as seperates ! i bought all genuine land rover belts and tensioners but an 'upgraded' pully was only available from britpart which land rover sell through their outlets. i was told this item was as good as the genuine part.

i think the whole lot came to about 160 quid or there abouts.
i dont mind after market parts for most things but important engine parts i would always go for genuine, that way you know youve got the best your going to get

used this on the last one i did come withe type 2 crank pully and instructions on how to fit it if you are changing from a type 1 Land Rover Parts Shop
