:welcome2:Hi all,
I,m doing my second service on my 06 freelander td4. I,m changing the cam breather fiter which I get in the local bmw dealer just round the corner from me, the same filter being used in the 320td bmw. The parts man showed me the new breather filter that replaces the cotton one which he called a oil seperator breather filter, which he says does no longer need replacing like the old one. Has anyone used one of these filters as it seems to be a good idea.:)

Just fitted mine last month finally after three years of using the old style ones. I was a bit put off by some members claiming to have to cut out notches to get them to fit so I ordered a complete assembly & it fitted with no trouble on to my 2003 car.

Have now fitted to two TD4's. BMW part numberB11.12.7.799.367 @ £22. No problem with fitting. No point in using old style filter at approx same price.

Don't be worried about cutting the new filter insert as it's a doddle, some need modifying others don't. If the original filter housing raised groove does not line up with the new insert all it needs is a new groove cutting/filing out of the insert, two minute job at most.
