Hi guys, as per title, does anyone know or can explain in lay mans terms what I would need to do to calibrate my speedo? I know it's well out and have bigger wheels fitted. It's a series 2a with 200tdi fitted. DIY job or into garage?
All help appreciated.

I'd first use a sat nav to see just how far out the speedo is

Know Defender has a drive cog you can change off the gear box to alter the speedo drive ratio

Have to confess don't know if that's the same with a Series

I use a cheap 7" tablet with GPS in my Transit as the speedo is unreliable, it has proved to be very accurate, shows MPH, KPH or knots, 3 mileage trips, max speed indicator and alarm and can be overlaid on Google maps. Cost £70, let me know if you want details.

Loads of free apps to use on a smart phone.
I've got one that throws the speed onto the windscreen.
Uses GPS so probably more accurate than the speedo

Yep, any Android smart phone, I use digiHUD, can display on the device or head up on the screen, HUD not too good in bright sunlight though.

I just used the gps in my hudl to find out at what point 30 40 50 etc is on the speedo and drive accordingly, 28 is 30, 46 is 50

Thanks for replies guys, I had sat nav which gave me mph (said sat nav died the other day) and have said adjustments clocked into the grey matter, have used the iPad but it seems to lag a little. I will get another at some point (data tech appreciate details of one your on about).
Would have preferred to have had accurate speedo but we can't have it all or can we?

Its a good idea to do this and mark your speedo with something for a quick visual
