you might appreciate the wheelie bars when you are sat on your head also.

i'd listen a little bit more seriously to the guy who appears to have more than one stupidly engined land rover in his collection!

Be reet! I don't plan on flooring it anywhere for the sake of my half shafts and box

you say that, but you only have to floor it once for a giggle. You wont be able to resist!

Also whats the point of having all that power etc if you cant actually use any of it, and not be able to floor it.

I remember when i was in the VW scene, a guy put a TVR v8 into a MK1 golf, we all though he was bonkers at the time, but 3 years later when he rolled up to a show in it we all ****ed ourselves.......:car:

whatever you do, make a plan and bloody stick to it lol and have some patience :D

Bracing a chassis makes a lot of difference  they increase its rigidity for a start therefore it can deal with more torsion.....why do you think formula cars are essentially built on a web like design!?

Wheelie bars just no

Hydro boost again no as I'm using a disco set up

Injection....I did toy with using two sets of 3.5 injection set ups to make it up to 7.0 but far too much effort to bother with ATM

That is so they can build the lightest possible chassis, from very thin metal

Hope you checked the main bearings, and rod bearings. Along with getting the head skimmed, checking valve seats and valve guides. And that carb looks like it needs a total rebuild. And check the oil pump as they are a weak point

no need to skim the heads, no need to do anything other than fit new gaskets

carb is fine too

And how have you determined that the bearing are good? And with all the corrosion on the outside of the carb will be a good indicator as to what the inside is like. And why you say heads don't need a skim?

I'm all for throwing it together and using the 'be reet' phrase where possible but your apparent disregard for anything other than the most obvious is quite alarming!

because the original 49 year old gasket had gone, engine still ran perfectly and didn't overheat it was just blowing a little so its getting replaced

49yrs old is a good time to check bearings before you chance scoring the crank, and every oil/water seal will be dry rotted and the main seal will leak like the Exxon Valdez. And pour a bunch of wd 40 on the pistons so the rings will be loose or marvel mystery oil on them.

re chassis..it will still twist..lots..it needs diagonal bracing..feck knows how to do that without it coming though floor or hanging too low..

look get a ladder twist it..get another ladder with more steps per metre..it will still twist....i have gone into this plenty with mine..i recon 300hp is all the lr ladder type chassis will handle ..i running 400...its too much ..lifts n/s front wheel in the air, and thats with adaptive air suspension, pops the doors etc before i fitted dead locks...and i have proper roll cage fited..the gaps between the bars and body change by atleast 5mm on power..

anyway..

re injection..why use lr??plenty of usa type setups...
you gonna need aftermarket ecu to control sparks..dizzy will be no good with boost..yes it will work..but...so do it proper like..

i still say do it..can i have ago once done please??

Plan with chassis is a lot of bracing and roll cage so we're hoping it'll survive! Chassis is thicker than the original Cadillac one but just without two tonnes of American steel and leather on top!

Door wise I do expect a little movement too but I hope it'll be ok if I'm gentle....

Injection was mainly because I had the bits :)

And yeah you can once it's done! Paying for my gaskets on Monday so should have them at the middle of the week and my mate is cleaning the block for me too. I'm now looking at making a solenoid operated butterfly so I can control noise round town. I.e. Loud as ####! Then when I'm nearing home shut it down so its civil
