BW Transfer box ratios

Does anyone know which vehicle was fitted with a higher ratio chain drive
transfer box?
I have a 1989 Efi with the 3.5 litre engine.
I only ask because I have just changed mine for a spare, and the poor thing
is struggling to pull the higher gearing now.
70 mph is now at 2000 rpm.
Looks as though I will be stripping it down to change the gearing back to
standard.

could be a diesel rr ratio

I thought all the chain drive transfer boxes are the same ratio - 1.222,
I take it the coloured sticker has gone from the replacement xfer box ?

The speedo drive gear in the transfer box can be changed for one of,
IIRC, 12 different types so the first thing I'd ask is... how sure are
you that the speedo is still reading the same ?

The LT230 transfer box can be used to replace the BW box with the
addition of the required levers and are available in 1.0, 1.2, 1.4 and 1.
6 ratios "off the shelf".

I thought that an' all.

mind, I can't find 1.192 ratio LT230s mentioned in any of my books, yet
that's what the one I've just acquired is, or says it is anyway.

Are you sure it's not a 1.0192 ? They were fitted to the back of the 3
speed auto in RRCs and, as you say, aren't documented in the normal
books/info. They are ideal for BIG, low revving diesel conversions like
the V8 GM,

nah, this is from a RR, on an LT77, and says 1.192 on the little sticker.
