Buzzing Noise.

Hello all,

I've got a '99 4.6HSE.
I've recently noticed a sound not unlike a fly or bee flapping against glass. This seems to be from the passenger side front. If I just rev the engine I cannot hear it, but when driven it can be heard whilst accelerating and then dies down. It is quite quiet though. It seems like something vibrating (its a bit like exhaust baffles) but as I said it will only happen when driving.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Try looking around the exhaust silencer as there is a heat stopping plate. I know as mine came off and the noise stopped

Also worth checking that the viscous fan isn't rubbing against the plastic cowling too
