Hi all, I haven't been on here for a while but I'm thinking of buying a 90 and I see that prices are much higher for the USA exportable models, my question is, once the vehicle has had a new chassis is it still exportable as its largely new? Anyone know?

I’m sure someone with experience can confirm but to export to the USA, doesn’t it have to be of original spec with original engine, gearbox etc. A replacement chassis to original spec albeit galvanised but with matching chassis numbers should be.

That’s was also my understanding but I am not an expert. Everything has to be original spec. It can be replaced but has to be like For like. The reason for the increase prices is now usable vehicle qualify as exportable. Previously it was the old NA’s and 19J’s no one wanted. But you were stuck with as had to be original as it left the factory.

As mentioned original spec only for shipment. You cannot ship any +25 year old automobile with a galvanized chassis to the states. I think Canada is the same but for +20 year old automobiles.
