Hi All,

Have been offered a slightly rough but fully working manual DHSE

the main AMP from the HK system seems to be knackered, not worried about keeping this, but is it possible to replace this with a normal amp ?

has anyone ever done this.

or do i jsut need to find a new one ? thinking about having this as a tow motor..

you have'nt got a main amp, all the doors have a seprate amp in and the sub has one mounted on the unit itself. its unlikey all the amps have failed at the same time but if they have you can bypass the amps in the doors and run the speaker direct of the head unit, i would go for the head unit first.

it depends because my vogue only has one amp which is a dsp amp.when it went i lost all sound bar the front tweeters and two front door speakers the rest was dead,a new amp at the time was close to £400

all i get from the entire system is a clicking noise. The Sat Nav creates the clicking also when it goes to give instruction ?

Don;t mind having to buy a new unit if needed but would prefer to find out if possible to replace or bypass with a standard amp ?

The Car did have DSP system, but when you look on the alpine headunit it no longer shows the options ? If you pull all the fuses to do with the system, it coms back on for about 20seconds then dies again ...

im not sure you can use a standard amp,as i think the h+k systems are taylor made, your probably better speaking to a good audio specialist
