buying advice for a newbie please

Hi people,

I am new to the forum, and am looking for a defender 90. The plan is to start with a few short expeditions around europe next year, which will give me a year to prepare.

Knowing nothing about defenders, and just thought if anyone could kindly give me some advice. I have found this one as an example on ebay (link below), this is roughly the price range I am currently looking at, but I'm wondering, if i did go for something like this, should I be expecting a lot of further work? and also there's a mention of small leak from the power steering box, is this something serious?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I personally would be looking for something more original and unmolested if your going to be traveling far. Not sure on that GRP roof either, from a strength point of view. You may need a rack etc. doesnt say what mileage, when the rebuild was etc. tatty? for that money it should be a gem really. OK galvy chassis is a good start point.

Just wondering, the above link looks indeed neat, what should I be expecting to pay for one in this condition??
