Not where Fanatic Thinks ...
I know this has probably been asked a million times before but for some reason I just can't find the answer. Been up since 2 this morning and me brain is aching.

Need to buy a new drop arm (preferably with balljoint included) as mine is now tired and keeps popping the bottom cap and circlip out. What do I need to buy and from whom ? 300tdi , 1997, rhd.

Also going to get a new damper as the current one is getting stiff and looks ****. Anyone recommend anything that aint ****parts.

Ta muchly

Done mine a few months back bought one from paddocks, drop arm with bush already in.
was quite cheap don't know how long it will last, but for the few extra quid it was worth getting one with the bush installed. others on here will tell you to replace just the bush,
but doing the drop is a **** job, getting the arm off can be a mare.
see busters how to thread.

Actually fitted new balljoints allround using the kit for the drop arm. The others are sound but the drop arm just keeps popping the bottom cap out and spilling the cup etc on the floor. Happens when going from full lock to full lock which I do every day seeing it has the turning circle of a bus.

Did you take the drop arm off?

nope, was going to but after i broke the second puller :) gave that up and just did it in the place, it build from the bottom so not to hard to get the bits in place, bit of pesuasion needed to tap out the top part of ball joint cup but thats all, make sure you clean out the groove for the circlip well or can sping off the bottom plate as wont seat right. youl need some preasure to reassemble unit to get circlip in, i just use a valve spring compressor and job done :) hope that helps fella
